Today, I’m going to do something different. Instead of long article, I’d like to share a micro-blog with you. If after reading the below blog post you feel inspired, I invite you to share it with your network so we can all learn from each other.
Now, on to todays post!
Have you ever heard the phrase “the mind gives up quicker than the body”? If so, this short blog post will discuss exactly what that means.
What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the word ‘fitness’? Do you think of an athlete? Do you think of someone lifting a lot of weight? Or maybe someone that competes in marathons? Regardless of what your imagination tells you, often times the word ‘fitness’ depicts a physical image in ones mind.
However, in my personal opinion, the word ‘fitness’ means something much more. To me, fitness begins by harnessing ones emotional strength. This can mean many things to different people. Personally, I define emotional strength as having the mindset of pushing through the impossible, while managing the multiple stressors in life. Emotional strength is shown in multiple ways, such as: not letting mistakes hold you back, quickly recovering from failure, ones ability to recognize their needs, pushing through what may seem to be impossible and much more. Without having a strong grasp of emotional strength, your fitness journey will likely be much more difficult.
Focus on your emotional strength before anything else.
Don’t let your mind hold you back from something that, with hard work, can be truly amazing.
